Description:

Accenture is seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer to join its Advanced Technology Centers in India (ATCI) team in Bangalore. In this specialized database and infrastructure support role, you will act as a "software detective," taking ownership of the stability, monitoring, and debugging of critical large-scale business applications. Your primary focus will be supporting high-concurrency cloud data warehouse environments built on Amazon Redshift. You will isolate processing bottlenecks, optimize slow-running database queries, analyze complex cluster logs, and collaborate across cross-functional infrastructure units to ensure zero downtime and maintain business continuity.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 15 years of full-time formal education.
• At least 3 years of direct, professional software engineering or infrastructure operations support experience specifically focusing on Amazon Redshift.
• Thorough understanding of data warehouse management protocols, column-store data configurations, and cluster performance tuning within AWS ecosystems.
• Advanced proficiency in auditing, restructuring, and running query optimization techniques to decrease runtime latency for large datasets in Amazon Redshift.
• Strong analytical ability to parse system logs, monitor cluster metrics (CPU utilization, queue slots, disk space), and execute immediate root cause analysis (RCA) for operational anomalies.
• Competence in utilizing scripting languages (such as Python or Shell script) to write automated workflows that streamline daily support tasks and infrastructure health checks.
• Ability to work independently as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), contribute actively to technical problem-solving discussions, document explicit troubleshooting runsheets, and mentor junior associates on complex issues.
